Week 20: Preparation for Basement Floor and Pile Cap

In the last week, the groundworkers have been busy ensuring that all the required drainage pipes are in the right position in the basement and they’ve started putting down the steel rebars that need to be in place before concrete is poured to cast the basement and the pile wall.

The rebars reinforce the concrete that will be poured later on Thursday the 12th of December. The team have also marked out the locations of the basement wall, and where the poured top surface will be after the concrete is poured.

As ever, this is a very intricate task. The gents doing the work are amazing! I enjoy watching them tie up the steel rods and ensuring the Sika water proofing membrane is positioned correctly on the ground of the basement and the pile wall.

Here are some photos from last week.
