More Fixing and Finishing

Sorry, it’s being a while. We’ve been busy, work, kids school holiday and a recent family bereavement. In the meantime, the Bentley team and their sub contractors have been busy with finishing and rendering in places. The green roof is now well established. The groundwork to connect the ground source heat pump pipes to the house is complete. The rest of the services are being connected as I type e.g. water and electricity to the field shelter etc. The wildflower meadow has taken in the areas where no groundwork is taking place. It looks amazing.

The staircase has been installed bar painting and balustrade. The first fix of electric and plumbing is more or less finished.

YEO, our cabinet makers have finished building the kitchen, bar area and seating area. I’ve got photos but we agreed they will do a blog with us so, I will not spoil it. It looks fantastic. We can’t wait for them to be installed in the next couple of weeks. Meanwhile, the living space has been prepared ready for the installation.

We’ve experienced some supply chain delays, the doors and door frames have had significant delays which is frustrating and the guys have had to work around it. We got the door frames last week, we’re expecting the doors next week. As you can imagine, this holds up plasterboard and plastering installing the bathrooms and rest of sanitary wares which is annoying.

The Savernake oak cladding is currently being prepared and oiled, some of the cladding has gone up, they’ve also being putting up the battens and insulation membrane that the cladding will sit on top of.

Some of the flint has been pointed as installation is finished. The mason is on holiday and is back next week to finish pointing over the next few weeks.

We had two planning applications for revision of the landscape to reposition the ditch and a raised swimming pool. Both have been approved and we’ll eventually work our way through that. We’ve appointed a landscape contractor. Charlie’s Home and Garden, a local landscape company. The coordination to onboard them is underway.

For the next few weeks, we expect to get the rest of the cladding installed, finish flint pointing, install kitchen, bar, sitting area and utility room. Starting a lot of the electrical second fix and some of the landscape work.

Without further ado, here are some recent photos
