More PV Slates and Finished Roof

The installation of the GB Sol PV Slates was completed last week. It looks amazing. I took a few photos which you can see below. David my son and I were on site last weekend inspecting progress. David was really pleased with the progress with his room and en-suite.

Actually, a lot has changed in the last week. The stud-walls have gone up in the basement, the airtight treatment to the entire house is complete prior to installing the stud-walls, the Sika Waterproofing has been signed off by Sika. I’ll cover them in subsequent posts with videos and photos. Besides the above, we’ve been incredibly busy with M&E coordination for first and second fix. We’ve signed off bathroom design now and are progressing to thickening the hedgerow in the meadow in the next couple of weeks once the weather takes a good turn. It’s so uplifting to see Foxgloves, Daffodils, Snowdrops and the odd Bluebells heralding the arrival of spring. My salads are already growing super fast and my strawberries are not far behind. Happy days.

Here are photos from last weekend. We don’t visit the site during the week with the children. We tend to go there weekends when there is no one on site so we all maintain our bubble. I do visit during the week when I need to inspect or help make a decision.

It’s worth adding that I’ve got my first Covid-19 Vaccine. I signed up last year to help the NHS test vaccines. So I got called up a few weeks ago to take part in a trial to mix the two types mRNA and Adenovirus based vaccines. I can’t go into more details here other than a desire to help dispel all the stupid conspiracy theories flying around about the vaccines.

I’ll be getting my second booster in 14 days. I’m in the 28 days cohort. Needless, to say, one still needs to take precautions, masks, washing hands etc. The children have gone back to school. The UK Government has made antigen tests available for Covid that tell you the results within 30mins. We have started using these a couple of times a week. This is important to ensure the bubble is safe.
