More GB Sol PV Slates Photos and Airtight Readiness

I was back on site yesterday and took some more photos. The PV Slates installers are likely to finish up today. The photos look amazing as you absolutely can’t tell the difference except you’re close enough. Love them,

Secondly, Jack and the rest of the Bentley team were busy with airtight readiness by painstickingly installing insulation membrane and batten around the internal of Dianthus before the stud wall goes on. I’m sorry I don’t know all the technical jargon but I think that sound about right. Once all the insulation membrane is installed, I believe we will have an airtight test to ensure there are no gaps for heat loss.

The masons are also on site working on the flint wall. I’ll feature this in a future post.

Without further ado, here are the photos from yesterday.

  1. Thank you so much for this documentation of your build, and in particular of your PV roof slates from GB Sol. I have found it really helpful in consolidating our ideas

We are going to be extending our bungalow both out- and upwards into a slightly raised roof. This means that much of our roof will have to come off. A significant part of our plans is to have solar power, but we are in a sensitive area: our property isn’t listed but we have grade II listed buildings either side of us and to the rear.

Consequently we have approached GB Sol regarding their PV slates and are hoping to proceed with them; we can’t see any other manufacturer / supplier to match them currently.

Have you been happy with both the supply and performance of your PV slates?

    Many thanks
    Julia

    1. Hi Julia, many thanks for your comments. Yes we have been really happy with them. We are also happy with the performance of the solar tiles and inverters. Even on cloudy days we generate electricity. All the best with your build. If you need anything, please reach out.
