We’ve been busy with homeschooling with the new lockdown and of course, we’re staying out of the way of the builders to let them get on with their work and respecting lockdown rules.
In the last few weeks, the roofing sub contractors have completed installing the SIP Roof, the base and insulation for the pitched roof and green roof that forms the pavilion.
In addition to that, the aluminium flashing to insert the rooflight in the master bathroom has been installed. The rooflight itself should have been installed yesterday. The rafters over the Juliet balcony will follow next week. (I’ve subsequently added photos of the rafters going on the Juliet balcony). The wildflower roof will be installed on top of the green roof in spring when the weather is favourable.
Next week, the guttering and soakers will be installed on the pavilion, most of it is already installed. The north facing roof slates will be installed next week whilst the south facing GB Sol PV slates will be installed the week after that as well as the installation of the Flint Cladding and Salisbury Corner Quoins cladding to the pavillion. Looking forward to the flint cladding.
Here are some photos from the last few weeks.
In parallel, the kitchen cabinetry that James Yeo Cabinets will build has been signed of and the manufacture has begun including deposits for the equipments. We’ve instructed the Mechanical and Electrical folks to get ready to start their work for first fix. Exciting to finally be looking at the finishing line now!
We’ve taken delivery of all the roof lights ready to go on the roof. We’ve finalised our landscape design and are very excited about restoring our beautiful meadow and be worthy custodian of what Rhona looked after previously.
I’ll write another post about the trees we’ve been planting in the meadow. We’re excited the house has taken it’s final shape and can’t wait for all the windows and doors we’ve purchased to go on and for first fix to start.
